Children may either have a school meal or bring a packed lunch. Meals are eaten in the school hall and children are overseen by either school staff or an MSA (Midday Supervisory Assistant).
Ordering and paying for your child’s school meal on ParentPay
How to book a school meal on Parent Pay
- Log into your ParentPay account.
- Select ‘Book Meals’ for the appropriate pupil.
- Select ‘Lunchtime’ from the ‘Make Bookings For’ drop down menu.
- Select the date to view in the ‘Week Commencing ‘drop down menu.
- Select ‘Make or View Bookings’.
- Click on School Meal for the days required. The selected day will turn green with a tick in the top right corner.
- Select ‘Confirm Bookings’ once all of the required menu selections have been made.
- The latest time you will be able to order a meal for that day is 8:30am. If you miss this deadline, then you will have to provide your child with a packed lunch
- Before you can order meals via Menu Selection, you will need to clear any outstanding debts on ParentPay, as the system will cancel any meals on the day if you have any outstanding amounts for school meals.
Packed Lunches
Packed lunches should be sent in an appropriate container. The food should be such that your child can manage to eat it himself/herself at lunchtime. Water will be provided. Fizzy drinks, canned drinks and glass bottles must not be brought to school. Children are encouraged to finish their lunch.
Our school uses Mellors Catering Services to provide delicious food to our children. All food is cooked onsite in our well equipped kitchen. Mellors is committed to delivering an exciting choice of food where the finest, freshest ingredients from local suppliers are used which means better quality food.

Nut Free Zone
We aim to be a ‘Nut Free Zone’ and ask parents not to send in anything containing nuts. For children who have school meals, while all reasonable precautions are taken to ensure all products supplied by our caterers are free from nuts, we cannot guarantee this to be the case as products may be subject to external influences which cannot be controlled

Paying for meals
A school meal costs £3.00. Payment of all meals is done through ParentPay.
With many families facing financial hardship as the cost of living increases, NYCC (North Yorkshire County Council) are doing all that we can to ensure that every family that is eligible to claim Free School Meals (FSM) for their child is benefiting from this additional help.
